This mural was created in collaboration with the European Commission, the city of Genk and Treepack.

Social cohesion refers to the strength within a community. It is of fundamental importance for the well-being and development of societies.

In this mural, the different animals symbolise various groups of people. Even though they are very individual and engage in different activities, they tell a common story here. When people trust each other and feel part of a community, they are more willing to support each other and work for the common good. The mural not only points to the cohesion of people, but also to the appreciation of our earth. It shows the beauty of nature and an inclusive community that values and respects the diversity of its members. This multifactorial concept, which works on different levels, creates space for different perspectives and backgrounds.
