The Ground Festival in Brussels invited six street artists, each from one of the six founding countries of the European Union, to draw their vision of the future fauna and flora on the sidewalks. Alain, representing Luxembourg, painted one of his main characters, the toad, on the ground in front of the Beraymont building, the headquarters of the European Commission.
The toad appeared for the first time in 2018 on the facade of his parents' house in Luxembourg, thus representing a very personal piece from his home town. The toad leaps through the grass and carefully holds a butterfly in his hand, illustrating the festival’s theme and bringing awareness to the fact to take care and pay attention of the beautiful and small things in nature.
The produced works will remain visible to the public after the festival, bringing colour and creativity to the EU quarter.
